I’m Richard De Vere, a former cyber security consultant with a professional background helping companies understand threats and protect their people, systems and information.
My experience spans penetration testing, social engineering and practical security advice. Within the cannabis sector, I have identified and responsibly reported a number of security and systems issues.
Good security starts with understanding how a business actually works.
I bring that professional experience to a straightforward advisory relationship: understand your business, agree what is useful, then get to work. My own experience as a patient also gives me a personal understanding of the sector.

How does the £100 credit work?
Your paid consultation carries a £100 credit towards your first De Vere Works cannabis advisory retainer or package. The proposal and first invoice will show the deduction. It is applied once against the same business’s purchase, with no expiry. It is not a recurring discount or cash alternative, and refunded consultation payments do not create a credit.
Is this a security audit or clinical advice?
The hour is a discussion to understand your needs and potential work. It does not include a security audit, system access or testing. Clinical decisions remain with qualified professionals. Legal advice, regulatory sign-off and certification are not included.
Can we start with a small piece of work?
Yes. A focused review or clearly defined improvement package can be a sensible starting point. Any ongoing retainer is optional and agreed separately.
